Ellen Tebbits - Beverley Cleary - Audio Book

Ellen Tebbits - Beverley Cleary : Ellen Tebbits is convinced she'll die of embarrassment if any of the girls at school discover her secret. But then she meets Austine Allen, a new girl in class who's hiding the very same secret, instantly, the two become best friends. They do everything together, from clapping erasers to riding horses.

Ellen quickly learns that embarrassing secrets and pesky troublemakers like Otis Spofford aren't so bad when you have someone special to stick up for you. But then Ellen does something terrible that makes Austine stop speaking to her. Will she ever be able to prove how sorry she is?

This refreshing book nicely portrays what happens in a friendship between two young girls.
Although written in 1951, this book is still actual. Friendship, with its up and down, can survive almost everything as long as its a true one. And this story is about true friendship. I think that lots of children will recognize themselve.

The Aardvark Who Wasn't Sure - Jill Tomlinson - Audio Book

The Aardvark Who Wasn't Sure - Jill Tomlinson : Pim is a baby aardvark, with a long, furry nose. He has tiny little claws instead of fingers and toes, and sleeps in a cosy burrow.

But he isn't sure what being an aardvark really means. He asks his mother all sorts of questions, and she decides it is time he found out what being an aardvark is all about.

In his quest to discover the world around him, he meets lots of exotic and interesting animals. There are snakes, cheetahs, elephants and monkeys, and they all have something to teach him.

He's disappointed that aardvarks can't climb trees, but as he learns how to find termites, fight predators and build a burrow of his own, Pim realises there are some advantages to being an aardvark after all...

A very lovely story which will please a lot of children I am sure.
